MedTaken Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
MedTaken is a medication reminder app. This page explains what data we
collect, why, and how you can access, export, or delete your information.
Data we collect
- Account: email and password (your password is managed
in encrypted form by our authentication provider — we never see the
plain text), and the display name you choose.
- Medication data: medication names, dosage, schedule
times, days of the week, and whether each dose was taken, missed, or
skipped — both for your own use and for anyone you care for and have
added to the app.
- Caregiver–dependent pairing: invite codes and the
link between a caregiver's device and the device of the person they
care for, used to sync medication schedules and alerts between the two
phones.
- Push notification token: a technical identifier for
your device, used exclusively to deliver medication reminders and
caregiver alerts at the right time.
What we DON'T collect
MedTaken does not access your camera, photo library, location,
contacts, or microphone.
How we use your data
We use your data exclusively to operate the app's features: scheduling
and displaying medication reminders, syncing information between a
caregiver and the person they care for, and sending alerts when enabled.
We never sell your data to third parties, and we never use it for
advertising.
Who we share data with
- Supabase — our database and authentication
provider, which stores the data described above in encrypted form.
- Push notification services (Expo / Firebase Cloud
Messaging) — used only to deliver the app's notifications to
your device.
We don't share your data with anyone beyond these providers, which are
strictly necessary for the app to function.
Account and data deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time,
directly in the app (Settings → Delete account) or through this page:
medtaken.com/delete-account.
Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Medical disclaimer
MedTaken is a reminder and organization tool — it does not replace
medical advice. Always consult a doctor or pharmacist about your
medications.
